About Us

The Glen Meadows curling rink was constructed in 1975 and has a long and proud history. Our rink has six sheets of ice and a spectator viewing area where you can enjoy a hot or cold beverage, or a light lunch, while observing on-ice activities.

Our curling season begins in October and runs to the end of March. Our club has Men's, Women's, Mixed, Master's and Junior curling leagues that play each week and we host regular gatherings for school groups, businesses and other organizations.

Curling programs are delivered through a partnership between the Glen Meadows Golf and Country Club (the owner and operator of the facility) and the Glen Meadows Curling Association that organizes and runs the Leagues, Bonspiels and Competitions as well as providing curling instruction.

We organize and host several bonspiel events every year including competitive events for Mens, Women's, Mixed and Masters curlers. Our bonspiels are attended by many Vancouver Island and lower mainland teams as we are known for having some of the finest prize tables on the island.

In November of 2008, Glen Meadows Curling Association hosted the BC Junior Women's and Men's Playdowns for Regions 8 through 11. This event was well attended and we take comfort in knowing that the future of our sport is in very capable young hands!

On occasion, curling teams from other nations visit Glen Meadows to compete against our best teams. Glen Meadows Curling Association has hosted both Men's and Women's teams from Scotland including five Scottish teams on the 2004 Strathcona Cup Tour of Canada (the oldest international curling competition in the world).

More recently, curling teams from USA and Korea have participated at some of our annual Bonspiels. Visits by international curling teams always attract a crowd of local curling fans who enjoy watching these exciting matches!

We welcome curlers of all levels to visit us. We certainly look forward to meeting you and to having a friendly, but competitive, game of curling !
